At 4, Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple loves to play dress-up – and she isn’t shy about getting her 2-year-old brother Moses in on the act.

“She makes [Moses] cross-dress,” Paltrow, 35, told PEOPLE at Wednesday’s launch of Estée Lauder’s new perfume, Sensuous, in New York City. “But she doesn’t put makeup on him!”

Maybe because she’s keeping it for herself: “My daughter plays with anything that’s girly. … She loves makeup,” said the actress, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. “She puts on the eye shadow and my high heels. … She likes to take my tank tops and make them a dress. And then she asks me to tie a rubber band on the back so they stay up.”

The budding fashionista is also a fan of Mom’s fragrance. “I don’t like her to spray perfume on herself because she’s so little,” says Paltrow, “but she likes to spray it on me.”

But it’s not all maternal duty for the star. After a day of dress-up (and the inevitable cleanup), Paltrow makes sure to decompress.

“Oftentimes when I put my kids to bed I’ll take a bubble bath and have a glass of wine,” she said, adding that she also likes to play chef.

“I don’t make complicated Japanese food or anything like that,” said the star, who recently admitted to having lots of lovely vices. “But I cook all the time, so I’m always trying new stuff.”

ironman.jpg Instant sequel! Just add water, and a lot of fannies in the seats. On the heels of Iron Man pulling in more than $200 million worldwide since its release last week, Marvel Studios announced there will be an Iron Man 2.

The sequel’s release is scheduled for April 10, 2010.

Marvel plans some superhero cross-pollination on the big screen. Robert Downey, Jr.’s Iron Man character, Tony Stark, will make an appearance in The Incredible Hulk, due out in June. Studio chief David Maisel says it’s likely the Hulk will make an appearance in Iron Man 2.

The studio has several other films in the offing based on Marvel superheroes, including Thor (June 2010), The First Avenger: Captain America, (May 2011) and The Avengers (July 2011).

Actor returns in a film expected to be one of the summer’s biggest hits

NEW YORK–She has spent three years living under the radar as a wife and mother, but now Gwyneth Paltrow is revelling in her return to the limelight.

The blond actress has caused a fashion sensation with her stylish red carpet appearances across Europe for her new film Iron Man, and is planning her next projects.

“I suppose it’s a comeback in a way because I definitely was hibernating for a while and I feel that now I am coming back into the world,” she says. “I enjoyed making the film so much that doing the public appearances and promotion for it has felt really easy and not too intimidating.

“A lot has changed in my life and it’s very nice to come back and feel that people are somewhat pleased that I’ve decided to come back.”

She was feeling a little jet-lagged, having just flown in from London, as she sat with a relaxed regality in a New York hotel suite and chatted openly about her life, family and headline-hogging comeback.

Her last major film role was in Proof and, since her daughter Apple was born in May 2004, the Oscar-winning actress has worked in supporting roles in Infamous and Running with Scissors.

She has chosen as her comeback vehicle a movie that is expected to be one of the summer’s big hits. Directed by Jon Favreau, Iron Man stars Robert Downey Jr. as arms manufacturer Tony Stark who, after being captured by Middle Eastern guerrillas, constructs a protective iron suit and turns himself into a crusader for peace.

Paltrow plays Pepper Potts, the woman behind Downey’s technologically advanced but troubled superhero, who takes charge and organizes his life.

“It’s funny, but when I agreed to do the movie there wasn’t a script,” she says. “I just had a conversation with Jon Favreau and he kind of outlined to me what the movie was going to be about, what the metaphors were, who the characters were and what the relationships were going to be. I had always wanted to work with Robert, so he was one of the main reasons I accepted the film. He’s one of the most brilliant actors I’ve ever had the good fortune to work with.”
